Control System for a Multi-Axis Shaker

Control system for the multi-axis shaker HYDRA at ESA/ESTEC

  Execution of the work described for engineering for HYDRA.
  Customer: Andreas Grimm Engineering Elektronik GmbH, Sauerlach; Mannesmann-Rexroth, Lohr; ESA/ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands.
  Procurement of the hardware components for the calculator system on the basis of 11 VMEbus systems.
  Installation, commissioning and testing of the real-time computer system, consisting of 36 signal processors, type TMS320C40 for the control of 8 coupled hydraulic shafts with 6 clear degrees (6 DOF).
  Development of various software components for the real-time calculator system such as capture of taken sizes, transmission of set values or setting of online parameters for the control system.
  Development of the operating system (UserShell) for the preparation and execution of tests. This includes: administration of tests in a database, filing of test data and connection of the operating system to the ESA/ESTEC Intranet.
  Development of the software for process control for the execution of a test run. Process control is effected together with the actions of an SPS which ensures the hydraulic system.
  Software development for the Watchdog system to monitor the control system.
  Commissioning of the unit at the company ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands.
  Execution of the work for the "Configuration Management" within the framework of quality assurance.
  Hardware: Multi-processor system on the basis of the VMEbus including DSP TMS320C40 ADC, DAC and digital I/O, FDDI, embedded PC and standard PCs.
  Software: MS Visual Basic, MS Visual C, C Cross Compiler for DSP TMS320C40.
